Hmmm... I don't really understand these indie musicians sometimes. I mean, what are the flowers for? Come to think of it, the hat isn't really necessary and those gloves are shit. I suppose he is "making a statement" or something. Anyway... following a new personal best for Not Many Experts yesterday (2,300 visitors!) I decided that we all need a bit of a come down... OK, OK, it's been Christmas and all that, but everyone is about to lose their jobs, food is getting more expensive, the falling price of oil is going to put gas stations out of business and that Leona-A-Like from the X Factor is going to release an album. So, the bloke above (known as Alaska In Winter) decided to release his debut album as a solo artist and bring us all back down to earth with an album that stretches despair to new, electronic depths. Hooray.I'm not saying it's going to cheer you up, but it's damn good. Oh, and it was recorded in a cabin, which must earn it Pitchfork + points.

Wow, so a quick FYI, before you post your high and mighty blog about how you are too good to get into indie music trends, you should know this is Alaska in Winters SECOND ALBUM. His first album, which was self titled, was the one recored in a cabin, and yes, it was in Alaska.
oh, and the hat is bad ass.
calm it anonymous! The alaska in winter debut album, "dance party in the balkans" was the debut album, but it was more of a collective effort with the work of Zach Condon and Heather Trost featuring. This album is Brandon Bethancourt by himself.
Oh, and try getting some action in that hat. It isn't happening, and there's good reason for that. If you are going to start getting hot around the collar about indie artists, please have some balls and stop hiding behind the "anonymous" name.
Wrong again Phil. The first album was Brandon Bethancourt by himself and he got Zach and Heather and other people to add a bit to it, and Holiday is also Brandon by himself and he once again asked two people to add vocals. He wrote every single thing on both albums so they were both Bethancourt by himself, he just likes to gather fellow musician friends to add to the albums. Where are you getting your information??
